WAYS TO GIVE

Sojourner House Fund
Your unrestricted gifts to the Sojourner House Fund provide the foundation for the ongoing operation of our programs. You can give annually, quarterly, or monthly by check, cash, or credit card, or you can make a gift of stock. Your gift will always go to the area of greatest need.

Honor and Memorial Gifts
You can provide a lasting tribute in honor or memory of someone special by making a gift to the Sojourner House Fund, and the name will be listed in our newsletter.

United Way Donor Option
You can designate your gift to Sojourner House through the United Way Donor Option. Just enter #1262 on your pledge card as your designated choice.

Planned Giving
Have you considered Sojourner House in your legacy planning through a bequest in your will, annuities or other estate plans? The Nancy Watson Dean Society, named for our co-founder, was formed to recognize those who have provided for the future of Sojourner House through a planned gift of cash, stock, or other property.

Fairchild Endowment Fund
You can secure the future of Sojourner House by giving to our endowment fund, a permanent source of financial strength, named for the late Virginia Fairchild, co-founder and first executive director. Gifts of cash or stock are gratefully accepted.

Dreamseeds Endowment Fund
In 2009, Lance and Hope Drummond launched an endowment fund for our Dreamseeds Children’s Programs in anticipation of the tenth anniversary of the program in 2010. The goal is to raise $500,000 to sustain the wonderful academic and cultural enrichment opportunities that help our children thrive.

Matching Gifts
Does your employer participate in a matching gift program? Whether you are a current or retired employee, many companies will double or even triple the value of your gift. Contact your employer’s human resources department to obtain the appropriate forms. We will gladly assist you in this process.

Donate Goods
As some of you may have heard or read in the news, there is an epidemic of bed bugs in many community living environments. Fortunately, Sojourner House has not been affected by this problem. In our attempts to avoid an outbreak of bed bugs, we are adhering to strong recommendations by health and housing officials; we are limiting the number of items entering our buildings. To help in our prevention efforts, we are no longer accepting clothing or household item donations. Thank you to all who have donated used items in the past.
